I rehauled Toby. Yeah, I know, I was going to release it by now, but hey, what are you going to do? It’s far more stable and it’ll be easier to add features to, and that’s good for everyone. My guess for a release date is by, oh, March 30. P.S. I added an address book!

Big advances in Toby today: I rewrote the attachment handling portion to allow for an unlimited number of attachments and the ability to add/remove attachments before sending. I also reconfigured the Forwarding section to automatically attach the files from the forwarded e-mail as well. Woo pee!

I’ve added some more updates to Toby. These updates will stop coming whenever I get a life, or die. Whichever. I organized the settings page, added the ability to upload e-mails to Toby, and standardized the method by which an e-mail is saved to the database. Oh happy day!

The semi-stable version of Toby was updated again today with incredible advances in attachment support – number of attachments and filenames are now correctly calculated for all standards-compliant messages, HTML version of the message is no longer counted as an attachment, and others. You can now choose to view both the HTML and plain text version of HTML e-mails as well.
It’s Christina’s 20th birthday today, so happy birthday Christina! You’ll be in your twenties for the next ten years, so get used to it. :-)
Today I added the grade tool to my little list of helpful applications. You can enter in all the grades for your classes and what percentage of your total grade they are worth and find out a whole bunch of useful statistics about your current academic standing. It all works now, after I fixed a bug that linked the grades to the wrong classes.

I made leaps and bounds tonight in the way of updates and fixes for an event scheduling tool I wrote. I reorganized all the code, probably cutting the amount of it in half. I also rewrote a part so that CSS was not used to represent data, which is completely backwards. The schedule now truly shows tabular data, with longer events having longer table cells. I also added a nice little Javascript tooltip capability to all of the events. Next step is allowing anyone to sign up: fun, fun, fun.
This is a site I did as a volunteer for Emanuel Lutheran School of Hamburg, MN. It was my first encounter with a roll-your-own CMS system, which started out pretty rough. I eventually got it working at a satisfactory level, and coming up in April when the domain runs out, I’ll probably just be letting go of this one and giving the code to the school, since I moved out of Hamburg.
This was one of the first sites that I did for money. I still maintain it, but it holds together pretty nicely. Also run by a basic CMS that the guys at North Central can take care of, it’s done pretty well for itself.
Toby is a Web-based POP3/IMAP mail client I’ve been working on since November of 2003, I think. It’s been pretty stable for a couple of weeks, so you know what that means… I’m going to screw it up again! I’ll be adding some more features in the next month, as well as getting a first version available on SourceForge as well. Oh, and if you want to try it out, I’m currently running the test version at http://toby.efinke.com/ .
This is a site I have almost completed for First Lutheran Church in Williston, ND. There’s been some issues with the server freezing lately, probably due to PHP copying files around… probably. It’s powered by a pretty basic CMS that I used on a couple of other sites, but I made a lot of improvements on this iteration.
Here’s a site that I’ve been working with since April of 2003. I just recently converted the bulk of it to XHTML 1.0 (or is it 1.1?) strict and implemented an all-CSS layout system. I think it looks so much sharper than it used to.
Well, I decided that I might as well try out this “blogging” thing that everyone was talking about in late 2001 into early 2002, now that it is 2004. I’ll post things here that are probably only of interest to me, but feel free to pry into my life by reading.
