Feed Sidebar 4.0 has been released for all users of any previous version of Feed Sidebar, and this version has two great improvements over version 3.1:

You can now sort your feeds by three different criteria: Feeds are now updated constantly, rather than all at once. So if you have 60 feeds, and you have Feed Sidebar set to update once per hour, instead of updating all 60 feeds after an hour, Feed Sidebar will now update one feed every minute. This should fix any issues users have had with Firefox locking up while feeds are being update.

To upgrade to version 4.0, you can install this update from Mozilla Add-ons, or if you already have have Feed Sidebar installed, it will be automatically downloaded for you.

Gabriel was baptized at Zion Lutheran in Mayer on June 7, 2009. He didn't seem to mind the water, and he really enjoyed the welcoming applause from the congregation. (Being in the spotlight is one of his favorite things.) We had lunch at our house afterwards, and Gabriel got to play with his cousin (2nd-cousin?) Bennett. As you can see in the last two pictures, they were practicing high-fives.

A lot of people request that ScribeFire be updated so that it can post to Twitter, since ScribeFire is a blogging tool and Twitter is a micro-blog. I don’t have any immediate plans to add this feature, since there is another Firefox add-on that satisfies this need in a way that complements ScribeFire. It’s called TwitterBar, and it’s another one of my projects. It lets you tweet and post links to Twitter directly from your browser’s address bar: Just type your message in the address bar and then type –post (no need to press Return), or click on the Twitter icon at the end of the address bar to post it to Twitter.

If you want to use Twitter to share links to your blog posts, just publish your post as you normally do with ScribeFire, open your post after it’s published, and click on the Twitter icon in the address bar. It will post a link to your blog post on Twitter, and you can even tell TwitterBar to include the title of your post as well. If you’d like to try out TwitterBar, you can install it from Mozilla Add-ons. It’s on Mozilla’s list of recommended add-ons, and it’s one of the highest rated add-ons in the “Social & Communication” category, so you can be guaranteed that other users have found it helpful.

TwitterBar 2.4 was released this morning, and the main change is that it now integrates the URL shortening service tweak.tk. The URLs that .tk generates are the shortest you can get, weighing in at 15 characters; TwitterBar's previous URL shortener, is.gd, generated 18-character URLs. What does this mean? Well, now when you post a URL to Twitter with TwitterBar, you have 125 characters for your message instead of 122. So feel free to toss an extra LOL or BRB in there; you've got plenty of room.

I just uploaded an update to ScribeFire 3.4, which unfortunately still had some debugging dialog boxes in it. Sorry for the inconvenience; the update will available in about an hour.

Here are some pictures of Gabriel just being a happy baby. He stopped giving me nine hours of sleep the last few nights. I'm trying to figure out the magic switch that makes him sleep. He's been "talking" to himself a lot more lately.

Gabriel was two months old this week. He has made his mommy very happy the past two nights by sleeping for 9 hours straight. Now if only we could get him to take longer naps during the day. Here are his two-month pictures: Bath Time! And here are the monkey pictures...

Gabriel is two months old today and to celebrate, we went to the doctor and got three shots! His checkup went really well. He weights 12.5lbs (75th percentile), is 24.5 inches long (90th percentile) and his head circumference is 39.6 centimeters (50th percentile). The doctor said everything looks great and he is definitely thriving. When the nurses gave him the shots they warned us that we would hear him make a cry like we had not heard before and they were definitely right. It was heartbreaking but only lasted for a few seconds. He slept for a little while after we got home and then woke up crying. I can tell he is in pain because he wants to be held constantly and will cry if we put him down for a few seconds. I got him some infant tylenol so hopefully that will make him feel better and he can still get a goodnight's sleep. He is happy when his is nursing or in my moby wrap but I don't think I can keep that up all night long. Here are some pictures from the Doctor's office: Just hanging out Waiting for the doctor...
