How to use Feed Sidebar

Open the sidebar by clicking the Feed Sidebar button in Firefox's toolbar or by selecting "Feed Sidebar" from the "View > Sidebars" menu.

Click on a feed item to show a preview in the bottom of the sidebar; double- or middle-click on an item to open it in the browser and mark it as read.

To ignore a feed for a while, double-click on its folder. The "unread" count will show in parenthesis, but new items won't cause alerts to pop up or the toolbar icon to activate.

Get the Feed Sidebar Newsletter

Enter your email address to get updates about Feed Sidebar in your inbox. (Feed Sidebar won't send you email more than once a month, and your email address will never be sold to a third party.)

How to Subscribe To Feeds

To add a feed to the sidebar, just subscribe to it as a Live Bookmark in Firefox. You can do this by clicking on the feed icon in Firefox's toolbar; then, click "Subscribe Now" on the subsequent page. (You can try it on this page!)

Customize It

You can...

  • Show items that you've already read by clicking the "All" button next to the search bar.
  • Filter your feeds with the search bar.
  • Access the options from the context menu.
  • Sort your feeds with the sort button; click a sort option again to sort in the reverse order.
  • Change the number of days worth of items that are shown by clicking the History button in the sidebar.
